PARIS, France- The national men's XV's rugby team, The Simbas, saw their 2019 Rugby World Cup hopes go up in flames as they went down 42-17 to Hong Kong in the ongoing qualification repecharge in France.

Kenya began the match well as they took an early lead after Felix Ayange passed to Tony Onyango to score and Resolutions Impala Saracens RFC star Sammy oliech converted.

Elkeans Musonye was next to go over the line after a well worked move by the Simbas and another successful conversion gave them a 12-0 lead.

A lapse of concentration enabled Hong Kong to grab their first points of the game, making it 12-7 at half time.

However, Hong Kong battled to get back into the game and took advantage of costly errors by the Kenyans to capitalise and overpower them.

This was Kenya's second loss after a 65-19 humiliation by Canada last weekend, meaning that they have been eliminated from the tournament and will have to wait a few more years for their dream to feature at the Rugby World Cup.
