NAIROBI, Kenya-  Mathare United FC are looking forward to extend their perfect start to the season to three victories on the trot when they host Ulinzi Stars FC in a headline SportPesa Premier League (SPL) tie at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, Nairobi on Saturday afternoon.

The slum boys top the standings on goal differences following their 2-0 and 0-3 victories against Chemelil Sugar FC and Nzoia Sugar FC in their opening two outings and face a side that opened their account last weekend with a 3-1 victory over KCB FC.

“If I get a chance I’ll certainly pull one for myself and the team this weekend," newly signed Mathare midfielder Kevin Kimani declared on Friday.

The 2008 league winners head to the clash against the soldiers buoyed by a 9-1 thumping of Nairobi County League champions Creative FC in a midweek build-up fixture.

Kakamega Homeboyz FC, Bandari FC and Western Stima  FC are tied on six points with the league leaders.

Second placed Homeboyz  travel to Kisumu to take on newly promoted Stima at Moi Stadium while resurgent Bandari are in Machakos to engage basement side Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) FC at Kenyatta Stadium in first of the double header at the venue.

The other fixture pits the tasty showdown between Sofapaka FC who were stunned 2-1 last weekend by Bandari against AFC Leopards SC who are on the hunt for a first win of the season.

Leopards on Thursday promoted Marko Vesiljevic to the new head coach position after his immediate former boss, Serbian Nikola Kavazovic ditched the club for South African side Free State Stars.

The 11-time domestic champions drew their opening fixture 1-1 against Kariobangi Sharks FC before surrendering to a 0-3 loss to Homeboyz last weekend.

Vesiljevic became the 26th head coach hired by Leopards since they were promoted back to the top flight in 2009.

Three SPL matches have been lined-up on Sunday with 12th placed Tusker FC hosting Mt. Kenya United FC  in Machakos with both teams seeking a first victory of the term

Vihiga United FC entertain Sony Sugar FC at Bukhungu as Zoo Kericho FC tackle Chemelil at Kericho Green Stadium.

Sony, who are placed 14th, lost their midweek fixture against Sharks  2-0 at Kasarani.

Sharks and SPL champions, Gor Mahia FC, will not be in action as they have traveled to Ghana and Nigeria in that order for their CAF Confederation  Cup and Champions League assignments.
