Consecutive victory

SportPesa Shield champions Kariobangi Sharks FC once again outfoxed SPL holders Gor 1-0 for their third victory in a row over the record 17 time domestic holders.

It was the second defeat of the champions this season as their title defence unravels this early in the new campaign. Duke Abuya was the match winner for Sharks, deciding the match in the 17th.

At the Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega Homeboyz FC had to wait for a late leveler to get a point from their match against Nzoia United FC, who seemed to be on course for their second win of the campaign.

Eighth-place Sony Sugar FC also had to come from behind to beat Zoo FC 2-1 at the Awendo Green Stadium, sealing a second consecutive SPL victory.

Kepha Ondati put the visitors ahead in the third minute but Derrick Otanga scored with a cool finish to level the score at 1-1 going into the break.

Stephen Kadogo Onyango would have the last laugh as his winner with 20 minutes left on the clock was enough to condemn Zoo to yet another defeat, leaving them in 16th with three points.

Chemelil Sugar FC emerged 2-0 winners over struggling Mt. Kenya United FC courtesy of two first half goals, despite a missed penalty in the eighth minute.

Mt. Kenya remain rooted to the bottom, having lost all four matches and were reduced to 10 men in the dying seconds of the match to add onto their miserable form and frustration.
