NAIROBI, Kenya- Immediate former Gor Mahia FC head coach, Dylan Kerr, is set to be unveiled as the new boss of Premier Soccer League (PSL) side, Black Leopards SC according to reports in South Africa on Monday.

Kerr who parted ways with the SportPesa Premier League winners on Thursday night is said to have attracted interest from two PSL rivals, with Free State Stars FC also thought to be in the race for the Briton’s services.

However, according to South African website Soccer Laduma, Leopards have won the race for his signature.

“Black Leopards are believed to have earmarked the man that they want to lead them forward this season, with a former Leeds United man the frontrunner for the job.

“Lidoda Duvha have been on the hunt for a new head coach since parting ways with Joel Masutha just before the start of the international break, and the Siya crew previously reported that they showed an interest in Dylan Kerr,” the website reported.

“However, with Free State Stars also on the lookout following Luc Eymael’s exit, it was thought that Leopards may face some competition for his signature.

“Now, with PSL football set to return this week, the crew has been informed that Leopards are leading the race to land the ex-Mpumalanga Black Aces man after he left Gor Mahia with back-to-back league titles.

“If all goes to plan, it appears that Kerr could be appointed before Leopards come up against Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the month, although there will also be the issue of a work permit if a move is finalised,” the report added.

Gor and Kerr announced they had parted ways following a one year and four month stint at K’Ogalo that yielded back-to-back SPL and SportPesa Super Cup titles.

The record 17-time domestic league winners have installed his assistant, Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno in temporary charge of the team.
