Everton Up For Five Football Business Awards

LIVERPOOL, United Kingdom- Everton Football Club and Everton in the Community have been shortlisted for a total of five prizes at the 2018 Football Business Awards.

Departments across the Club and its official charity have been recognised for a variety of projects undertaken and delivered throughout the past 12 months. 

Judges at the Football Business Awards shortlisted the Blues in the following categories:

- Innovation Award: For capturing the hearts of the nation with a fan engagement campaign that used a robot to help a disabled 14-year-old Evertonian enjoy a ‘once in a lifetime’ mascot experience from home.

- Fan Engagement Award: For the Club’s relentless efforts to connect and offer Evertonians experiences – on and away from matchdays – they will never forget.

- Best Football Community Scheme: For Everton in the Community and its ground-breaking work across Merseyside.

- Best Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme: For the ‘Home Is Where The Heart Is’ campaign and the work done to support young people on the brink of homelessness across the city.

- Sponsorship Partnership of the Year: For the Club’s partnership with forex trading and brokerage firm, Blackwell Global, and the work done to establish the firm as a premium financial service provider and make a clear distinction between themselves and others within the sector.

Now in its seventh year, the Football Business Awards reward the hard work that takes place in supporting the success of the game and recognise the essential role that business plays in football, the positive impact of football on the community and the vital role played by the businesses which serve the game.

With an illustrious judging panel selected for their particular experience and expertise, the Blues are up against tough competition in all categories, including from a number of Premier League rivals including Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea. The black-tie event will take place on Thursday 22 November at City Central at the HAC in London.

Everton CEO, Denise Barrett-Baxendale, said: “I am delighted that the Club and EitC have been shortlisted in five categories for the Football Business Awards. For our work to be recognised on such a prestigious national stage is testament to the tireless work that goes on behind the scenes by our excellent staff.”

The Club’s work with the world’s first ever robot mascot has also been nominated for a prestigious Northern Marketing Award. The campaign, that captured the attention of people all around the world, has been recognised in the ‘Best Sport Campaign’ category and is up against entries from Adidas, F1 team Force India, English Basketball and Huddersfield Town Football Club.
