"We are looking forward to the game on Tuesday and are ready to welcome them to Goodison Park. This will be a great opportunity for the Kenyans to show their talent and skill for anyone who would be watching.

“We have important fixtures to come and we have 26 top players so I have no doubt that there will be a strong enough squad. It’s a game that we won’t take lightly,” Coleman, who smashed in a beauty in their win over Brighton to hit the headlines stated after the game.

He will wear the captain’s armband when the two-time SportPesa Cup winners face the Blues in a SportPesa Trophy encounter that kicks off at 7pm local time (10pm EAT).

Tough match

“We had a tough match today but the players did well to overcome the opponents. A great team effort and I’m glad we came out with a win,” Silva stated.

“I expect a tough game on Tuesday. We just have to recover our players and get ready for the fixture.

“It’s important for the opponents to come to England for the first time and we welcome them to our stadium and I am sure it will be an exciting match,” the Blues boss emphasised.

“We are prepared for everything. I will give an opportunity for most players to feature in the game.

“Most players who played today will not be able to feature because we have important fixtures coming up,” Silva added, dispelling any notion the Gor game is a glorified friendly.

Brazil forward Richarlison had an superlative performance against Saturday’s opponents who are 12th following the loss, scoring a brace and Coleman getting on the score sheet for the first time since his long-term injury to give the Toffees a well deserved win.

Gor secured the opportunity to play the nine-time champions for the second time after retaining the SportPesa Cup with a 2-0 victory over Simba SC of Tanzania in July.

The first match between Everton and the record domestic league winners was in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania on Wayne Rooney’s return to his boyhood club and his fabulous strike guided the Toffees to a 2-1 win.

Gor’s top scorer in the 2017 and 2018 season, Jacques Tuyisenge scored the only goal for the Kenyans and is set to join his teammates on Monday in Liverpool ahead of the highly publicised encounter.

The rest of the players expressed utmost gratitude for the opportunity to sit in the stadium that hosted a few games of the 1966 FIFA World Cup won by England to watch the enticing match.

“This is one do the best days of my life. The reception we have received and getting to watch a game of this magnitude is something that I will never forget,” the young Raphael Asudi told SportPesa News.

“We’ve got to see the players we only see on TV right in front of us and that was magical,” veteran midfielder Humphrey Mieno added.

“There’s plenty of talent in the Everton team and despite them being a level higher than us, we are confident we will give them a run for their money,” Mieno underlined.
