SUMMARY
  • With the 2018 Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) main class  title already decided, five times Safari Rally winner Carl "Flash" Tundo will not only be going for a repeat of back to back victories on the Guru Nanak Rally, but his fourth career win on the roll honor
  • Charging Chager, one of the top two fastest drivers on the eight leg KCB Bank sponsored series,  will be out to outpace tenacious Tundo in season closer round on November 18 in Machakos County
  • Tundo racked up his fourth career KNRC title after beating Chager by a mere 3 second on the penultimate Kabras Eldoret Rally

NAIROBI, Kenya- The 39th running of Guru Nanak Rally will , nevertheless, see the KNRC gurus face stiff opposition from youngsters such as Onkar Rai nephew of legendary Sarbi Rai), reigning African champion Manvir Baryan and fast-rising Farhaaz Khan.

Manvir shocked established drivers during the ARC York Rally of South Africa (formerly Sasol Rally) in April where he became the first non South African winner of the event in his highflying Skoda R5.

The battle for the Formula 2  is down ti the wire and pits Sarit Shah in an ex Leo Varese championship winning Toyota Corolla RSI against Daren Miranda also in the championship winning ex Dennis Mwenda Toyota Sprinter GT.

Tundo and Chager will be driving B13 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Xs. Kenya Motor Sports Federation has since face out the B13 class effective 2019 and it will be interesting to know what's up their sleeves in the new season which will not feature Mombasa and Kisumu.

The B13 is an improved version of Group N which allows for a bigger turbo restrictor and sequential gear box.

Youngsters Nikhil Sachania and Sohanjeet Puee have rare championship doubles in the bag.

Sohanjeet from Team Nanak of Mombasa sealed the S Class and Division Two Championship at penultimate stage and so was Sachania in Division 3 and SPV. Sachania is the only physically challenged driver this season and drives a hand controlled Evolution X.

Guru Nanak Rally 2018 will be held on the 17th/18th November.

Scrutineering will be at Sikh Union Club Nairobi on the 17th November and the rally held on the 18th November in Machakos County.
